**Parallel Resistance Formula**

**R _{total} = (1/R_{1} + 1/R_{2} + 1/R_{3 }+…. + 1/R_{n})^{-1}**

**Example Calculation**

Consider four subwoofers in parallel with the following resistance values: 1 Î©, 6 Î©, 15 Î© and 100 Î©. The total effective resistance is 0.80 Î©.

If you have two subwoofers – one having large and the other small resistance values in parallel, the effective resistance is closer to the smaller value. Take for instance 1 Î© and 100 Î© in parallel. The effective resistance is 0.99 â‰ˆ 1 Î©.

**Example Calculation**
